A Day Out at Weston‑Super‑Mare Beach for a YP in Our Care.

A Memorable Beach Trip to Weston-Super-Mare

On Saturday 30th May 2026, a young person in our care enjoyed a joyful and uplifting beach trip to Weston-Super-Mare. Throughout the day, she took part in fun activities, soaked up the warm sunshine and experienced moments designed to support her wellbeing and boost her mood.

Courtney Mashazhike, Summaya Sheikhabdullahi and Mohammad Kyani accompanied her on the trip. They provided consistent support, ensured her safety and helped her fully enjoy every part of the experience.

A Positive Start to the Day

From the start of the trip, the young person showed a happy and relaxed mood. Because the team planned the outing to promote emotional wellbeing, she stayed engaged, smiled often and clearly enjoyed herself throughout the day.

Exploring Weston-Super-Mare Pier

As the group approached the Grand Pier at Weston-Super-Mare, excitement grew. At this point, she stopped to pose for photos beside the large Tyrannosaurus rex near the Ice Cream Palace. Visitors often refer to this dinosaur as “Pierasaurus”, so this added a fun and memorable moment to the experience.

Arcade Fun and Games

Inside the pier, she explored a variety of arcade activities. First, she played a friendly one-on-one game at the Big Wave Air Hockey table with a member of staff, which created laughter and light competition.

After that, she visited the Sand Arcade and Retro Arcade. There, she enjoyed a selection of vintage games, including Space Invaders, Track & Field and original Sega simulator bikes. As a result, the mix of classic and modern games kept her engaged and entertained.

Relaxation at the Beach

Following the arcade activities, the group headed to the beach. The warm sand and fresh sea air created a calm setting where she could relax and play.

Meanwhile, staff set up a picnic on the beach. She then enjoyed fried shrimp and chips while taking in the seaside surroundings. Consequently, this peaceful moment allowed her to unwind and fully enjoy the experience.
